I then checked the Lenovo Vantage to confirm the BIOS was installed successfully, which it indicates it was (screenshot attached).Īt first, my main concern was that when I double checked through the forums (this thread always coming up) to make sure I wasn't missing an additional update, there seems to be a lot of fear and confusion with the InsydeFlash installer.
I continued with the update and when my laptop restarted, it was running smoothly and was a relatively quick update. The logo was a bit strange like everyone has been saying in this thread, but I've worked with applications that look old, especially when dealing with more dramatic changes ( screenshot 1 at the start of this thread by user SyamMaddi). However, there seems to be a third party vendor that did the BIOS update called InsydeFlash and when I Googled the company, it seems like they are engineers who do BIOS. When I click OK, it brings me to Lenovo Vantage. I decided to do the update tonight when the window popped up. I've been getting this alert ( as seen in the link above by user SimonB88) and been putting it off since I know sometimes BIOS updates can take a long time and maybe interfere with software. Hi - I've tried calling support, but keep getting bounced between departments everyone is very nice, but doesn't seem to understand the full story, so I decided to post it to this thread which has been the most helpful. Location: USA Comp - Lenovo ideapad FLEX5-1570 I hope this reaches someotherguy who seems super helpful and responsive! I posted a lengthy step-by-step account of my experience with this, and I hope it's helpful here (this is the original link I find most helpful):
